Ward Overview
The 47th Ward is centered around the North Side neighborhoods of Lincoln Square, Ravenswood, and Northcenter. Generally bounded by the River to the west, Lawrence to the north, Belmont to the south, and Clark to the east, it also includes parts of Roscoe Village, Lakeview, Uptown, and Andersonville. It is largely residential, centered around important commercial corridors including Lincoln Ave. The Ravenswood Industrial Corridor that runs along the Metra tracks highlights the industrial history of the area, with a number of manufacturing businesses still active.
