Ward Overview
The 1st Ward is in Chicago’s northwest side, covering parts of Wicker Park, West Town, Ukrainian Village, and Logan Square. Its general boundaries are Clybourn Avenue to the north, Ogden Avenue to the east, south on Hubbard St, and the western part of the 606 trail. The 1st Ward is serviced by the Blue Line El station and his home to many restaurants, cafes, coffee shops and bars. This is the first year the 1st Ward will be implementing participatory budgeting.
During the 2021 PB cycle, the 1st Ward hosted 2 idea collection events. Community representatives worked with ward staff and city agencies to develop 11 ballot items. Voting took place from November 2 through December 3. 135 residents voted at the ward office and in the community.
