17th Ward Overview
The 17th Ward stretches across six different South Side community areas: Chicago Lawn, West Englewood, Englewood, Auburn Gresham, Greater Grand Crossing, and Chatham. The ward includes Marquette Park, the largest park on Chicago’s Southwest Side. While most of the ward is residential, many major thoroughfares – for both vehicular traffic and cargo trains – pass through the ward.
